
Vote For Your Favorite Milwaukee Beer at the Fest!
We all know that Milwaukee craft brewers make some of the best beer in the world and now here’s your chance to vote for your favorite Milwaukee beer. Each Milwaukee brewery will nominate (enter) up to two beers form their brewery in hopes of winning the coveted BIG FIRKIN award. Event attendees will receive upon entry a BIG FIRKIN ballot from which they will select their favorite Milwaukee craft beer. Remember to vote for you favorite beer but you can only vote once because we’re from Milwaukee, not Chicago.
AND THE 2010 BIG FIRKIN AWARD GOES TO …
Milwaukee’s first very craft beer festival, exclusively showcasing the craft brews and breweries that continue to make Milwaukee famous, was held this past Saturday, June 12 from 3-7pm in downtown Milwaukee’s Cathedral Square Park. The Milwaukee Firkin Craft Beer Festival served-up unlimited samples of over 50 Milwaukee craft beers to over 650 attendees at this first annual event.
The beer that has won the title Best Milwaukee Craft Beer is Four Wolves English Ale by Stonefly Brewing Co.
Guests at the festival were asked to rank the beers that they tasted and name their favorite. Participating breweries and brands included: Sprecher Brewing Co., Lakefront Brewery, Chameleon Brewing, Milwaukee Brewing/Alehouse, Water Street Brewing Co., Stonefly Brewing Co., Rockbottom Brewery, St. Francis, Horny Goat Brewing Co., Leinenkugel’s 10th Street Brewery, Miller Valley Brewing, III Dachshunds and Buffalo Water Beer Co.
Over 200 attendees took part in the voting process and Four Wolves English Ale by Stonefly Brewing Co. will take home the first ever BIG FIRKIN AWARD. Join us next year as they defend their title! For more information on the event, visit www.milwaukeefirkin.com.
Firkin Fest was presented by the East Town Association, Inc., a non-profit downtown Milwaukee business organization that has promoted the downtown neighborhood since the early 1960’s. East Town Association is also the organization that produces Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park and the East Town Market.
